This year was the first time I ever won an IPPY, so imagine my surprise when the mail carrier delivered not just a certificate and stickers for the cover, but a freaking medal. I feel like an Olympian!
On February 19, I was honored to read at Charlotte Center for the Literary Arts with three other 2019-2020 Literature Fellows of the North Carolina Arts Council. That’s me at the far left of the lineup with the inexplicably rosy cheeks. I read a piece from my historical novel Testimony, which will be out in fall 2020 from Bywater Books. Thanks to David Potorti of the NC Arts Council for curating and to Kathie Collins and Paul Reali of Charlotte Lit for hosting!
